Rev. Vernon Eugene Johnson

Rev. Vernon Eugene Johnson, age 79 of Cabot, passed from this life on Friday, August 12, 2022, at his home. He was born April 2, 1943, in McRae, Arkansas to John Clemet Johnson and Ethel Geneva (Murray) Johnson. One of his greatest Joys in life was being a Missionary Baptist Preacher for almost 50 years and telling everyone he encountered about his Saviour. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anita Johnson; one son, Harold Johnson of Cabot; one daughter, Gloria Panhorst and husband Bill of Floyd; three grandchildren, Christopher Panhorst of Floyd, Brandon Panhorst and wife Carla of Floyd, Lindsay Spencer and husband Tillman of Sherwood; one brother, Dale Johnson and wife Donna of Searcy; one sister, Hazel Wilmington of Alexander; and his beloved dog, Snowy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clemet and Ethel Johnson; two sisters, Mary Saterfiel, Carolyn Sue Johnson; and one brother, Johnny C. Johnson. Visitation is Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home. Funeral services are Monday at 2:00 PM at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Romance Cemetery.
