Rev. Steele
Rev. Norris Steele, 82, of Little Rock, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2009. He served as a Merchant Marine during World War II prior to serving 43 years in the United Methodist Ministry. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Allidel Steele Whitwell.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia Davidson Steele; his children, Rev. Bill Steele and wife Mary, Rev. David Steele and wife Diane, Rev. Rodney Steele and wife Becky, and son-in-law John Whitwell; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dulcia Smith.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Henderson United Methodist Church, 13000 West Baseline Road, Little Rock, Arkansas, 72210. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Henderson United Methodist Church.
