Rev. John McNew, 59, of Vilonia, passed away on January 11, 2013. He was born on August 12, 1953 to Sherrell and Mildred McNew.
John graduated from North Little Rock High School and attended Hendrix College where he graduated with Honors. He served many years as manager at Mardels and was Pastor at Hickory Plains Church of the Nazarene.

John is survived by his son, Andy McNew and wife, Melody, of Vilonia; three daughters, Karla McNabb and husband Kevin of Greenbrier, Martha McNew and Tina McNew, both of North Little Rock; six grandchildren, Emily, Blake, Calvin, Colleen, Damon and Damya; two brothers, Mark McNew of Cabot and Harold McNew of Little Rock; two sisters, Sherry Free of Beebe, Shirley Chambers of Cabot; brother-in-law, Jerry Johnson of Cabot and a host of family and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Groverlon McNew and brother, Newton McNew.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Sherwood First Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, 501-758-1170. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Cabot.
