Renea Rushin

Renea Deann Rushin, 42, of Little Rock, passed over to that other shore peacefully on October 19, 2014. Preceded in death by her father, Dwayne Blue, and her grandparents, most especially Lucille Stover "Mam-maw", she is survived by her awesome husband, Michael Rushin Jr.; daughter, Abigail Nicole "Abby"; son Zachary Andrew "Mount" Rushin; mother, Barbara Stover Blue; and sister, Stephanie Brown and husband, Keith, and her nephews, Carter and Kellen, all of Little Rock.
Seemingly quiet, but not to be underestimated, Renea could hold her own and then some. Quick-witted with a little smile, she would crack us all up with a one-liner, usually aimed at Michael in response to his constant teasing. Renea's close friends and family got to witness her awesome sense of humor and playful nature. She was right at home in the crazy Rushin family-always in costume at our theme parties, competing in family contests for "Best Witch Laugh" at Halloween or "Best Hula Dance" at our Hawaiian party. Her sense of humor was an awesome surprise as we got to know her 25 years ago. We all had great laughs when she was pregnant with Abby and she referred to her as "Skeletor" or when she would call Abby and Zach "Children of the Corn". One Halloween when her hair was gone, she even dressed up as Uncle Fester! She was really funny and had the best smile. It was so awesome to watch her laugh until she couldn't talk.
Incredibly creative and aesthetically gifted, to watch her process from brainstorming to planning to executing a simple birthday party to an event for 200 was to stand in awe of her talent. Her Christmas trees were epic and her house worthy of any magazine cover. Her amazing attention to every detail was evident throughout her life, from her wedding to her sweetheart, Michael, to Abby and Zach's nurseries and eventual school projects, to the Shriner's Potentate Ball during Michael's term. Every event was carried out to perfection and with her artistic hand evident in every detail.
She was definitely the stabilizer, the perfect complement to Michael's frantic energy. She stood proud and strong with Michael throughout all of his endeavors in DeMolay, Rainbow, and the Shriners and she leaves behind a huge, loving family there as well. Many of these friends have spoken so highly of her willingness to support her family in any way necessary. Always present, always smiling, and offering her unselfish support at every turn. A steadfast example of true devotion, her love for her children was without question and they truly are examples of her great light and strength. She was always in the stands cheering Zach at football, "GO BUCS!" and applauding from the audience at Abby's concerts and plays. She was also, on occasion, the diffuser for Coach Michael when he got a little overzealous at a game, "MICHAEL!".
In the workplace, she was a dedicated, hard worker, respected and loved by her American Data Network family as well. It seemed Renea became family wherever she ventured. This also extended to her huge football family with Zach's team, the Bucs. She was right along with the other moms and dads in the stands cheering, "We Won't Quit", a rally that spilled over into her own life. She had a multitude of friends and family, but her "Supper Club" group was a constant support of love and laughter throughout every turn.
Renea's nephews' faces always lit up when they saw "Auntie Nea-Nea!" and she was dearly loved by all of her immediate family. She was a daughter, not a daughter-in-law and a sister, not just a sister-in-law. She was a source of strength for us all. She was always positive and pity-parties didn't last a minute until she was on it-fighting through it with grace whether it was a ballgame loss or cancer.
The love of our beloved Nea-Boo is one that cannot be understood, a void of light in our lives that we will now fill with our memories, photos and continued love and devotion to each other in remembrance of her spirit. Our family will never be the same and we will always carry her with us in spirit. Her spirit and strength have never waned. She kept fighting and "We Won't Quit" and #standstrongforrenea became the rally cry. "Cancer sucks! Go Bucs!" We love you, Renea and are so pleased that you are with your Father in Heaven now. It's not "love ya, miss ya, bye", but "See ya later, sweet angel."
