Rebecca Irene Doan

Rebecca I. Doan, 75, died Friday, December 22, 2023, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred G. Myrick, Jr., and Virginia Geer, and her sister, Marian E. Pepper. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Doan, her sister, Annette Myrick, and her brother, Fred Myrick, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Becky, as known by her family and friends, had a long career in social work, beginning with Arkansas Department of Human Services and then hospital social work at St. Vincent’s Infirmary. Her later career at UAMS included social work and research associate, including research projects for the Institute on Aging, College of Nursing, and the Psychiatry Research Institute. She loved learning and completed all but her dissertation toward her PhD.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 4 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Court. Graveside Service will be Friday, January 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 7401 AR-5, Alexander, Arkansas.
