In Loving Memory of Rebecca Harmon,
Rebecca (Becky) Harmon, wonderful person and caring soul, age 74, was a loving mother of one daughter, passed away peacefully on 1st January with family after living courageously with dementia. Becky was born in Arkansas, she brought warmth, kindness, and laughter to everyone she met. A devoted mother to Janet Lloyd and cherished sisters Lynnelle Strokes, Alice Fennell and brother John Hensley. Becky is survived by her daughter Janet Lloyd, her siblings Lynnelle Stokes, Alice Fennell and brother John Hensley. She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Nolan Hensley, Miss Burnell Rodgers and her brother Daniel Hensley
Becky was influenced by her fun loving and humorous family to be a loving and caring woman and not take life too seriously. She was always giving of herself to others, and in her role as a mother. She always showed a lot of interest in animals and had a fondness to cats. She had several best buddy cats she loved and occasionally took in strays. She loved to tend to plants and her home. She had an appreciation of nature. In her earlier years she enjoyed going fishing with friends and played on a softball league. She had several jobs throughout her life, though her last role and kind soul found her working for the Hot Springs School District providing young children with free meals. The children’s smiles and full tummies provided her with much joy.
During her life she was able to experience many different places. She lived in California, Alaska, Washington, and Louisiana to name a few. Although her heart always longed to return home in Arkansas surrounded by its natural beauty of Hot Springs and enjoying the with views of Lake Hamilton. Though being close to her siblings was the most important. All of them sitting around the table telling funny life stories and laughing loudly.
She will be greatly missed by her family and especially her daughter, Janet who adored her with all her heart.
“We know that we can’t have you but we’re happy knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother.”
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, January 6th for a 1:00pm visitation and 2:00pm service at Smith Family Funeral, 2205 Airport Rd. Hot Springs, AR 71913.
