It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rebecca Louise Burge, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, on August 18, 2024. Born on September 28, 1940, in Benton, AR, she lived a life filled with love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and her faith.
Rebecca was a woman of remarkable strength, grace, and deep faith. Her relationship with God was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through life's challenges and inspiring those around her. She was a guiding light to her family, offering prayers and wisdom that will be cherished forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Wesley Burge; her sisters Emma Grace Sandefur (Doyne)and Barbara Jean Simons (Jack), whose memories she carried with her every day. She is survived by siblings Jimmie Ruth Brock (Bennie), Susie Pruitt (Clarence) and Buddy Burns (Jamie); her daughters Teresa Haley (Glenn) and Sandra Moran (David); granddaughters Jessica Simpson (Kyle), Leah Miller (Brent), Erika Funmaker (Adam) and Hannah Leonard (Matt); great grandchildren Taylor Simpson , Kane Simpson, Gabriel Miller, Caroline Miller, Audrey Miller, Grayson Miller, Olivia Funmaker, Elliot Funmaker, Adam Bear Funmaker, Cora Leonard, and Aria Leonard. They will forever cherish the memories they created with her. Her legacy lives on in the lessons she taught, the faith she modeled, and the love she gave so freely.
A visitation to celebrate Rebecca Burge’s life will be held on August 24, 2024, from 2-4 p.m.at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home Beebe, 404 W Dewitt Henry, Beebe. A Graveside Service at the AR State Veterans Cemetery, NLR will be August 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rebecca Louise Burns/Burge Charity—Children’s hospital, a cause close to her heart.
Rebecca will be dearly missed, but her spirit and faith will continue to guide and inspire us. She touched the lives of so many and leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, strength, and unwavering faith. May she rest in peace, reunited with her Savior.
