Raymond M. Smith, 86, of Okolona, formerly of Ico Community near Sheridan, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008. He was born August 8, 1922 in Cato, Arkansas to Elijah Oscar and Ela Beasley Smith. He was a retired purchasing agent for the Veterans Administration at Ft. Roots, a World War II Army Veteran and a member of Okolona United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Gracie Robertson Smith, of Okolona; three sons and daughters-in-law, Denny and Genene Smith, of Greenbrier, Vernon and Brenda Smith, of Sheridan and Thomas and Rebecca Robertson, of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Liz Robertson, of Okolona; brother, Loys V. Smith, of Sheridan; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way; and one great-great-grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Juanita Smith; two brothers; and his sister.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Ico, Arkansas.
