Raymond Honig

J. Raymond Honig passed away March 21, 2015 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born December 3, 1941 in Lynchburg, VA to Loyd Francis Honig and Emily Honig Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a Navy Seabee, having served two tours in Vietnam, and received multiple awards and commendations during his 13 years of service. After military service he was Safety Director and Operations Manager for several major trucking companies. In his younger days he was a pilot, doing stunt flying and skydiving. He loved all animals, especially horses. For many years he supported and regularly gave devotions at the Little Rock Compassion Center. He was a member of East Union Baptist Church and also attended Church of the World in East End. He never met a stranger and leaves behind many friends and family. He will be dearly missed. His loved ones take comfort in knowing that he now rests in the loving arms of his Savior.

Survivors include his Wife - Betty Threet Honig, married over 19 ½ years; 2 Daughers - Renee (Mike) Viens, Massachusetts and Heather (Joel) Frey, Texas; 3 Grandchildren - Megan Presley, Nicholas and Andrew Viens; 2 Sisters - Dale Barnett, Florida; and Judy Mulcrone, N. Carolina; 2 nieces of Florida ; 2 Stepsons - Carroll (Pat) Threet and Gary (Donna) Threet of East End; 4 Step-Grandchildren - Matthew, Beth, Bryan, and Aaron Threet; 4 Step-Great-Grandchildren - Averie, Cooper, Tenley, and Gentry Threet.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel at 6400 Mabelvale Pike (one block west of 65th Street & University) in Little Rock, Arkansas. Burial will follow the chapel services at Salem Cemetery in East End.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, March 23, 2015 at Huson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Salem Cemetery.
