Raymond Donathan, age 89, of Royal, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

He was born on June 4, 1933, in Hot Springs, the son of Thomas Carol Donathan and Mamie Alice Moore Donathan.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Ray Donathan, James Donathan, and Donald Donathan.

Raymond was a Christian and he held the beliefs and views of Social Hill Missionary Baptist Church.  He was the owner and operator of Town & Country Heat & Air.  He was very hardworking, loving and charitable, and made lots of friends.  Raymond loved traveling, especially out west, hunting elk and pheasants, fishing and crafting mostly with sheet metal.  He was a family man, loving his family with all his heart and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Sharon Donathan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Howard DeLee and Mona Gale and Marty McDaniel; his bonus children and spouses, Pete Black, Tina and Greg Chapman, and Twyla and Randy Nation; four grandchildren and spouses, Ashlee (Cody) DeLee, Andrea (Chris) Stark, Nick (Tosha) Donathan, and Nicole (Ryan) Thompson; six bonus grandchildren, Nikki Black, Dustin Black, Hannah Black, Shelby (Spencer) Erwin, Brittany (Shane) Nobles and Easton Nation; eleven great-grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Corine and O.J. Smith; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services 2:00P.M., Tuesday, August 23, 2022, with Bro. Tyler Bray officiating in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Interment will be in the Morning Star Cemetery.

Visitation 1:00PM-2:00PM, prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Howard DeLee, Marty McDaniel, Randy Nation, Greg Chapman, Pete Black and Nicholas Donathan.

Honorary pallbearers are John Batton and Bill Smith.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Social Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
