Raymond Burrows

Raymond Kenneth Burrows, Sr., age 90, of McRae, Arkansas, died Monday, January 11, 2016. A dedicated Navy veteran, he served his country during World War II, and raised two sons who were Marines. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union. He was a Baptist and enjoyed studying his Bible.

Raymond is survived by two sons, Raymond Kenneth (Kenny) Burrows, Jr. (Ann) of Vilonia and Larry Joe Burrows, Sr. (Brenda) of Benton; one grandson, Larry Joe Burrows (Stephanie) of Jacksonville; great-grandchildren, Kinley and Clayton Burrows, Christopher Brian Graham, Ricky and Jannette Burns, and Joey Drennen. He has several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Seaton and Katie Burrows, his former wife and best friend, Mary Smith; two daughters, Carolyn Burns and Charlene Drennen; two grandchildren, Christopher Brian Burrows and Carol Ray Miller; and two brothers, L. T. and Louin Burrows; two sisters, Maydean Cox and Annie V. Barentine.

The family wishes to thank the Sheridan Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, the Lighthouse Unit, and his nurse, Tiffany Nelson Eichler.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2016, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Antioch Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, a certified Veterans Care provider.
