Ray "Glenn" Bailey

Ray Glenn Bailey was born July 15, 1936 to Ray and Jewell Bailey in Texarkana, Texas. Glenn passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 12, 2023 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Glenn is preceded in death by both of his parents; brothers Thomas and Terry Bailey; and sisters Wanda Bailey Holiday and Betty Bailey Earhart. He is survived by his loving wife Erlene Keiffer Bailey; his sons Jack Lazarus (Vanessa); Bruce Lazarus; and his daughter Glenda “Kathi” Bailey. He is also survived by his brothers Harold (Joyce) Bailey and Joe Richard Reid; along with nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews; and grandchildren.

Glenn’s greatest treasure was his family. He met the love of his life, Erlene Keiffer Lazarus, while working at Foremost Dairy in Shreveport, Louisiana and they married in 1958. Glenn and Erlene had a 64 year love affair and were constant companions.

His memory is cherished by his wife Erlene, his three children and three grandchildren: Jack Lazarus, wife Vanessa, son Tanner and daughter Morgan; Bruce Lazarus and son Nathan and daughter Kathi. We are grateful to our dear friends and family for their prayers, love, and encouragement over the years, especially the last four months.

Glenn enjoyed fishing, gardening, and had a love for all animals. He was an avid Razorback fan and was always ready with a “Woo Pig Sooie” for his favorite team.

Glenn was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Little Rock. He loved the Lord and was often heard singing hymns, especially when he felt good.

Glenn’s family invites you to attend a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
