James Ralph Stroud, age 89, of Arkadelphia died February 15, 2017. He was born February 8, 1928 in Gurdon, AR, the son of James Henry and Effie Brookings Stroud. He was an Army veteran, a boiler operator for the Arkadelphia Human Development Center and a Deacon at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Francis, his parents, a brother, Clarence Stroud and a sister, Emma Jean Key.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice, three sons, James Max (Toni) Stroud, Arkadelphia, Larry Malcolm (Shelly) Stroud, Gurdon, and Randy Gene Stroud, Gurdon; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Saturday at Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Newsom and Bro. Kenny Beaver officiating. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home Friday evening. Burial will be in the Easley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Easley Cemetery Fund or Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church.
