Ralph Lee Hackler, passed away on September 11, 2023, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Born on October 23, 1954, in Beebe, Arkansas, Ralph embraced life with passion and a zest for adventure.
Ralph's career as a tow truck driver was more than just a job; it was his calling. With unwavering dedication and a compassionate heart, he served his community tirelessly. Whether it was assisting stranded motorists on dark and stormy nights or lending a helping hand to those in need, Ralph's commitment to his work was unparalleled.
Aside from his career, Ralph led an extraordinary life enriched by his captivating personality. An avid hunter and nature enthusiast, he found solace in the great outdoors. He cherished spending time in the wilderness and basking in the tranquility it offered him. One of Ralph's greatest joys was sharing these experiences with his beloved grandson, Nikolas.
Throughout his life, Ralph nurtured a deep fascination for Native American history. Collecting artifacts that showcased their rich heritage became one of his favorite pastimes. Immersing himself in the stories of indigenous cultures allowed him to connect with their ancient wisdom on a profound level.
In addition to his collection of Native American artifacts, Ralph had another remarkable talent—he was an expert at rebuilding old cars. This hobby provided him with endless hours of joy and satisfaction. Each meticulously restored vehicle stood as a testament to Ralph's craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Ralph's dedication to serving others went beyond professional commitments; it extended into his military service as well. As a sniper in the Air Force, he demonstrated unwavering bravery and selflessness. Ralph's time in the military shaped him into an individual who would always go above and beyond to protect others.
Ralph will forever be remembered as a pillar of strength within his family. He was a loving husband, married to Lydia for 28 years, and a devoted father to his daughters, Dorothy (George) Peer and Taliatha (Mitch) Knapp; his son, Jeremy (Nickie) Hackler; and stepdaughters, Cherity Kutchfar and Jessica (Jason) Lee. He adored his 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, cherishing each moment spent with them.
Preceding Ralph in death were his parents, Ralph and Ailene Hackler, as well as his sister, Janice Summers. He now joins them in eternal peace, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by many.
Ralph's absence will be deeply felt by his nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity. His infectious laughter, warm smile, and compassionate spirit will forever remain in their hearts.
A visitation to celebrate Ralph's life will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N Market St. in Benton, Arkansas. This gathering of family and friends will provide an opportunity to share cherished memories of Ralph while offering solace and support during this difficult time.
