Ralph Goforth

December 20, 1930 — August 26, 2019

Ralph Goforth

On August 26, 2019, Ralph (Pete) Goforth of Jacksonville went to his heavenly home at the age of 88.  He was born to the late Clarence Aubrey Goforth and Roxie Herrin Goforth on December 20, 1930.  He is survived by his loving wife Helen Holt Goforth and two sons, Derik (Tim) Goforth (Stacy) of Cabot and Terry Goforth (Kris) of Austin, Three grandchildren, Heather Turner (Willie) of Cabot, Brad Goforth of Cabot and Nick Goforth (Teresa) of Austin.  He is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Cabot High School in 1951 where he was co-captain of the football team. After graduation he joined the Navy for four years, then went to work for the Little Rock Air Force Base at the Commissary working his way into management until his retirement in 1981.  He then went to work for Continental Fiberglass Corporation retiring there in 1992.

Ralph was a member of Bayou Meto Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.  He loved his Lord and his Church family.

He was always a joy to be around. He loved playing dominoes with his family and friends and kept them entertained with his keen sense of humor.  He loved his family dearly and lived a very selfless life, always thinking of others.  He adored his wife of 61 years and they had a loving committed marriage that was unwavering and was an inspiration to all that knew them.

Ralph will be greatly missed by his family.  His grandchildren and great grandchildren have many fond memories of riding on the tractor with him, fishing with him in Uncle Dick’s pond, planting many beautiful flowers in the yard and picking the vegetables from the garden.  We hold dear to our heart the many memories we have of Paw Paw.  He left a legacy that will not be forgotten and we look forward to our day of reunion.
