Ralph E. Casey, 96 years old, beloved husband, father, and friend to everyone he met, peacefully passed from this life to his eternal joy on September 9, 2020. He was born November 25, 1923 in Sayre, Oklahoma, the son of the late Lee Miles and Mineola Sanders Casey. He was also preceded in death by his beloved sister, Ruth and baby niece Rebecca. Upon high school graduation Ralph proudly enlisted in the US Army. He served his country during World War II from 1943-1946 as a Sergeant in the 67th Field Artillery Parachute Battalion and was stationed in the Asiatic Pacific. After the war Ralph attended and graduated from Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany Oklahoma where he met and married Donna Moore. Ralph and Donna celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on May 30th of this year. Ralph and his family moved to Little Rock in 1955 and settled in North Little Rock for the last 60 years. He was a faithful member of Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene in Sherwood (formerly North Little Rock Church of the Nazarene) for 56 years. He served on the Board of Trustees and as a Sunday School teacher. When the church doors were open Ralph and his family were there. Ralph began his career in the insurance industry in the early 1960’s. He received certification as a Chartered Life Underwriter and was employed by USF&G in downtown Little Rock for many years.
He is survived by his wife, daughters, Celeste Sodetani of California, and Michelle Phillips of Pennsylvania; along with four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be private. Mr. Casey will be laid to rest at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
