Rachel Turner, age 76, of Caddo Gap, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. She was born on March 31, 1940 in Jonesboro, the daughter of Roy W. Collins and Vivian Hope Burns Collins. On January 6, 1963, she was married to John E. Turner who preceded her in death on June 12, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two half-brothers, Alvin Collins and Gary Collins. Rachel was a license practical nurse and worked at several hospitals and nursing homes in the Hot Springs and Glenwood areas. During this time, she was awarded numerous certificates of achievement. She is survived by two brothers, Earl Collins of Dover, Delaware and James Collins of Groveton, Texas; one half-brother, Raimon Collins of Caddo Gap; two half-sisters, Rose Ann Collins of Sterling City, Texas and Adrienne Hendrix of Antoine; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 22, 2016, in the Oak Grove Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Lock officiating. Pallbearers will be Anthony Holcombe, Dennis Collins, Errol Collins, Ed Lawrence, Billy Whisenhunt and Danny Tillery. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
