R. Duncan

R. C. Duncan, 73, of North Little Rock, passed away Friday, January 14, 2011. He was born in Little Rock on June 8, 1937 to Bird Duncan and Sallie Wheeler. Mr. Duncan was a member of Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene and was a retired nurse from the North Little Rock VA.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Duncan of North Little Rock; sons, Stuart Chase Duncan of Texas and Byrd Duncan of Little Rock; daughters, Avia "Tilly" Duncan of Texas, Tanya "Tina" Johnson (Clea) of Little Rock and Alena Jones (Robert) of North Little Rock; sister, Bertha Carpenter of Chicago, IL and brother, H.C. Duncan (Julia) of Lexington, KY; and a host of step-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Polly, Flossie and Constance.
R.C. was a consistent advertisement for the Spirit of his church, the Friendly Chapel. He was instrumental in the daily duties of loving our neighbor as ourselves. If there were to be an election for a Mr. and Mrs. Friendly Chapel, R.C. and Linda Duncan would very likely win by a landslide.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene, 116 S. Pine, North Little Rock, AR 72114, officiated by Brother Paul Holderfield. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 22, from 4-6 p.m. at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene.
Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct.(NW Corner of I-630 and Barrow Rd), Little Rock, (501)224-2200. Mr. Duncan's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
