Porter Luther Connor, 82, of Sherwood passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020. He was a devoted member of First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock and an avid bluegrass player & singer.
He is survived by daughter, Pam Wheeler, of Sherwood; two sons, Paul (Gail) Connor, of Sherwood, Kevin Connor, of Beebe, and daughter-in-law Gina Connor of North Little Rock; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Lewis (Margaret) Connor, sisters, Carolyn (Billy) Adams, Sherry (Kevan) Miller and Lorene (Rodney) Greenhill, and a host of extended sons, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Leone, of 50 years, and his parents, A.M. and Ebrene Connor.
Porter loved to spend his free time “pickin and a grinnin” on his bluegrass banjo and guitar. His friends and family will always remember his deep, smooth singing voice and his burst of laughter. He was a great man with a huge personality and is leaving near impossible shoes to fill. Porter was the patriarch of the Connor family and he led by example. His family will continue on with the love he left behind.
