Phyllis Slater

November 14, 1932 — December 22, 2020

Phyllis Slater

Phyllis Ann (Voltz) Slater, 88, of North Little Rock went home to her Lord and Savior on December 22, 2020. She was born November 14, 1932, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Harlan and Bessie Squires Voltz. Her infectious smile was a welcome sight as she greeted her Fellowship North Church family.  Phyllis never met a stranger and her sincere heart for the Lord was enjoyed by all. She lived joyfully and loved Bible Study Fellowship, singing and playing the piano, boat rides, and cheering on the Razorbacks, but most of all “get togethers” surrounded by family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Stanley D. Slater, daughter, Carol Venable, and granddaughter, Lesley Venable.

Her legacy will live on through her survivors which include her children, Sandy Fischer of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Susan (Dewayne) Harris of Hot Springs, Stan (Lisa) Slater Jr., of Springdale, Sharon (Todd) Stuff of Sherwood, grandchildren, Mark Venable, Joe Venable, Missy Cohrs, Haley Echols, Lance Harris, Hannah Harris, Andrew Stuff, Logan Slater, Allison Stuff, Luke Slater, and AnnaBeth Stuff.  Other survivors include great-grandchildren, Kenzie Venable, Dexter Cohrs, Charlize Cohrs, and Emilia Echols, along with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Fellowship North with Pastor Harold Nash officiating.  Interment will follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fellowship North or Bible Study Fellowship.
