The family of Phyllis Dean Sharp would like to thank you for honoring her memory by your presence today.
She was born on March 4, 1938 in Searcy, Arkansas to Carson and Elsie Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sue Stabler. She spent many years volunteering for Sherwood Animal Shelter after she retired from UAMS. She loved the time she spent working with the shelter cats; her dedication was acknowledged when she received Sherwood’s Volunteer of the Year award.
Phyllis was a loving wife and mother. The things she loved most in life were her family, Mitzi (cat), shopping, making us laugh with her quick wit, and being silly with her grandchildren. She could often be found humming while working. She always woke up happy and would wake her children by singing “You are My Sunshine”.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dale Sharp; two daughters, Carol (Scott) Richards and Kathy (David) Dickey; grandchildren, Michelle (Eric) Haworth and Bradley Pobst; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Logan Haworth; sister, Virginia Hall, all of North Little Rock; brother-in-law, Dr. Carey Stabler of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Pat (Ray) Caldwell of Florida; close family friend, Susan Hines; and a host of other family and friends.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15th at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
