Phyllis Cantrell Oblander, 78, of Rockwall, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024.
Phyllis was born on February 26, 1946, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Bertha and Curtis Cantrell. From a young age, she displayed a passion for singing, which would become a source of joy throughout her life. She found fulfillment and community through her church, where her faith shone brightly, and shared her talent for sewing with those around her.
Phyllis also known to her loving family as "Mimaw" or "Aunt Phyllis" was married to the love of her life, Roger Oblander, and together they built a family that was the center of her world. She was the proud mother of two children, Kevin and Dee. Phyllis worked with dedication and commitment at L3, from which she retired after many years of service.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Curtis Cantrell; her beloved husband, Roger Oblander; and her son, Kevin Oblander. She is survived by her loving daughter, Dee; her cherished grandchildren, Rebecca, Brandon, Tyler, Kayson, and Kyle; and great-grandchildren, Luke, Beau, Remington, and Delaney, who brought immense pride and joy to her life.
A woman of deep faith and gentle strength, Phyllis will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the unwavering love she gave to her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to a public viewing on November 9, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Glenwood, Arkansas. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with the burial taking place at Glenwood Cemetery immediately following the service to honor and celebrate Phyllis’s life.
Phyllis’s light will continue to shine through the memories she created and the love she inspired.
