Phoebe Catherine Atkins, 96, of Sherwood, the most loving and gracious mom and grandmother anyone could ever wish for, passed from this life on September 18, 2020.  She was born March 7, 1924 in Ranger, Texas to the late Frank W. and Casandra A. Foster Elliott. Mrs. Atkins was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home. She enjoyed traveling, was a participant in several ladies’ business organizations as well as being a past mayor of Mountain Home. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cline Elmer Atkins, and son, James Wesley Atkins.

Survivors include her daughter, Priscilla C. White of Sherwood, six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren along with a host of other family and friends.

She will be buried at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas at a later date with her husband, former Navy CWO and World War II veteran, Cline Elmer Atkins.
