Phillip Summers

Phillip Summers was the first son born to Roy and Polly Summers in Russellville AR in 1953. He is survived by wife Laura Summers and seven children: daughters-Jaime, Jeanne, Samantha, and Nicola, and sons- Paul, Matthew, and Logan. Phillip was a man who stood on principles and took his citizenship duties seriously. He served three years active duty military with the Army's 82nd Airborne Division and later served 18 years in uniform duty as a Pulaski County Reserve Deputy Sheriff. He was known as a good man to have beside you when a difficulty arose. He worked 25 years as an investment banker, and then final years with Arkansas Department of Finance, Revenue Division, as an auditor. Phillip was an avid sportsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. In later years, he took great enjoyment cooking, gardening, growing flowers and herbs and vegetables.
Visitation will be held from 11:00-Noon, Friday, February 28, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market, in Benton followed by private funeral service for family only. Burial following at Ida Mission Cemetery, 18901 Colonel Glenn Road, in Little Rock.
