Pete M. McMahan age 91 of Friendship passed away Saturday, October 31 in the Hot Spring County Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born January 18, 1918 in Hot Spring County the son of Walter Elbert and Dicie Sheehy McMahan. He was a retired construction worker and of Christian Faith. He was preceded in death by his wife Magdaline Smoke McMahan, one grandson, Sidney Trout, four sisters and one brother.
Survivors include five daughters, Julia Dial (Marvin) of Leola, Ellen Frances (Bobby) of Arkadelphia, Coy Jean LaRue of Heber Springs, Dorothy Trout (Royce) of Friendship and Linda Satterlee (Larry) of Point Cedar, three brothers Jim, Lewis, and Jack McMahan all of Friendship, one sister, Dorothy Deyer of Phoenix, AZ, 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 27 great great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Arkadelphia with Hollis McDermott and Mark Strother officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Friendship. Pallbearers will be Ron, Rick, and Jay Loy, Jeffery Williams, Jeff LaRue, Roy Joe Trout, Mike Hampton, and Johnny Ivy. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
