Pete Jones

Pete Jones, 85, of Beebe, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday morning, August 20, 2014. He was born December 31, 1928 to the late Charlie and Irene Jones. Pete went to work at a young age in the sawmills for E. A. Steward and later for Mr. Bumpas. He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Little Rock after thirty years of service.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin, Bud, Harold and Dan Jones; and four sisters, Thelma Brodrick, Merle Daughtery, Bonnie Sitton and Peggy Jones.
Pete has three remaining sisters, Charlene Smith of Beebe, Lavern Coffman of Little Rock and Mary Hawley (Amos) of Little Rock; and one brother, Johnny Jones (Helen) of Cabot.
Very special thanks to Pat and Vanessa, Pete's caregivers, friends and neighbors. Pete enjoyed sitting out on his front porch with Pat and watching for deer to come across the field and talking about their pets.
Family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Smith - Westbrook Funeral Home, with funeral to follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Beebe Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith - Westbrook Funeral Home.
