Peggy West

Ms. Peggy West, 64, of North Little Rock, graduated from this life with honors and went home to be with the Lord on August 22, 2008.

She was born in Adams Chapel, near Camden, Arkansas, to Homer Edward and Mary Sue Adams on June 26, 1944. Peggy graduated from Chidester High School, where she was a basketball star and homecoming queen. Peggy moved to Little Rock and lived with Lavon Hogue until she graduated from the Draughn Business College in Little Rock, Arkansas. She worked for Judge Rita Gruber as a legal secretary for almost twenty years. Peggy was known as the ?glue? that held the office together, and always had a smile and was free with advice.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a niece, Candace Napier; and a nephew Martin Napier.

On June 6, 1964, Peggy married Jim West, and they made North Little Rock their home, Jim and Peggy were blessed with two beautiful children and a daughter-in-law; Philip West and his wife Rhonda, of North Little Rock, and Laura West of South Padre Island, Texas. Peggy was known as ?Soccer Nanny? to her grandchildren; Greg West, Tiffany Tyler, Austin Tyler, and Spencer West. Peggy was close to her sister and brothers; Audrey Auernheimer, John Adams, and Dickey Adams.

Peggy has left a legacy of love and has touched so many lives through her faith in Jesus Christ. She was very active in the Mid-City Crime Watch, numerous Bible Studies through a variety of denominations, and served on the Union Pacific Railroad Committee. She participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure every year with her girlfriends and family as a member of the ?Ladies of Justice? Team. She never met a stranger and helped everyone in anyway she could.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Full Counsel Christian Fellowship. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
