Peggy Howell, age 70, of Glenwood, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. She was born on October 12, 1947 near Glenwood, the daughter of Cleo H. Sigman and Maxine Vaughn Sigman. On June 11, 1966, she was married to Wick Howell. She was preceded in death by her parents. She worked for several years, alongside Wick, at Howells Service Center in Glenwood. After they sold the business, she went to work for First Step where she retired. Peggy was an active member of the Amity First Baptist Church where she was especially involved with children. She would work in the nursery and teach childrens Sunday school. An excellent cook, she always volunteered in the kitchen whenever there was a potluck dinner. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Wick Howell of Glenwood; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Dajunna Howell of West Monroe, Louisiana and Jeff and Jodi Howell of Glenwood; two grandchildren, Cori Chesson and Rachel Vaught; four siblings, Dennis Sigman of Union City, Tennessee, Lynda Robbin of Glenwood, Brenda Lea and Cass Adams, both of Hot Springs; and her nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 23, 2018, in the Mount Tabor Cemetery with Bro. John McAnally officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Robbins, Stacy Howell, Brian Reynolds, Thomas Fagan, Nathen Adams and Tony Hardage. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
