Pearl Vera Sheets

Pearl Vera Sheets, age 92, of Mountain Pine, died Friday, December 30, 2011. She was born on September 22, 1919 at Kirby, the daughter of Virgil Golden and Delia Simmons Golden. On December 22, 1935, she was married to James H. Sheets who preceded her in death on June 7, 2007. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Jimmy Carol Sheets; five siblings, Warren Golden, Rufus Golden, Terrell Golden, Lucille McNeal and Coy Gregory; and two grandsons, Calvin Golden and Jason Sheets. She was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Pam Sheets of Texarkana, Arkansas and Paul and Shirley Sheets of Benton; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Jerry Hunt of Greenwood; five grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Magil Smith of Kirby; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 2, 2012, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Bobby Golden officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Sheets, Gary Golden, Kriss White, Chad Stewart, Wade Stewart and Billy Welch. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
