Pearl Bowen Pennington, passed away on July 30, 2016. She was preceded in death by son, Allen Woodrow Pennington, Jr., one sister and six brothers. She is survived by daughter Olivia Pennington Piazza and son John Pennington; grandchildren Allen Pennington, Elizabeth Mayes (Barrett), Jennifer Denn (Troy), Anna Graham (Zack), Kristen Pennington, and Catherine Piazza McMains (Conner); two great grandchildren Parker and Blakely; nieces Jerra Alexander (Jerry) and Barbara Thorn; and nephews Alfred T. Bowen (Fran) and Lewis Edwin Bowen (Priscilla).

Ms. Pennington was born December 21, 1924 in Little Rock to Senator John Hamel and Pearl Oliver Bowen. Her father was an attorney and former mayor of Perryville, Arkansas.

She was a certified court reporter, operating Bowen Reporting Service until retiring at age 83. She was a member of Winfield United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class and a charter member of Perry County Genealogy and Historical Society and its first vice-president. In her 91 years, Ms. Pennington enjoyed stamp collecting and studying Arkansas history.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct, Little Rock. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 3rd at Ragsdale Cemetery, Perryville, AR.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Winfield United Methodist Church, 2100 Cantrell Rd., Little Rock, AR 72223 or a charity of your choosing.
