Pearl Mae Ramsey Stevens Johnson, 91, of Benton, AR passed away August 22, 2015. She was born January 18, 1924 in Bauxite, AR to the late Thomas E. and Ida Hendrix Ramsey.
Pearl was a member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, and singing gospel music. She had a beautiful voice and was invited to the governor's mansion to sing. Her musical talents included playing the piano, accordion, and ukulele. Her greatest joys were her Lord and her family knowing Jesus.
Pearl is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Stevens; husband, J.T. Johnson; son, Dewell Wages, Jr.; one sister; and five brothers.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories four daughters, Virginia Harding and husband Bill, Linda Lauzon and husband Paul, Carol Pitts and husband Dub, and Mary Pedron and husband Ron; two sons, Kenneth Stevens and wife Karen, and Johnny Stevens and wife Doris; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; special friend, Jean Gault; and many other relatives and friends who loved Pearl and will miss her always.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2015, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Smith-Benton Funeral Home. Funeral service, officiated by Bro. Kirby Caple, Bro. David Standridge, and Bro. Jimmy McDougal will be held Friday, August 28, 2015, 10:00 A.M. at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, AR 72015. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park assisted by Brian Harding, Tim Smith, Jimmy Lee Yates, Kyle Schroer, Charlie Jenkins, and Jeff Sharpmack serving as pallbearers.
