Pawnee Elaine Runions, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023. She was surrounded by her family and greeted in heaven by the comforting presence of our Lord, her beloved husband, R.B. Runions, son, Terry Runions and cherished parents, Lloyd and Velma Covell, along with her two brothers; Wandell Covell and Weldon Covell, and sister Estell Carmical, and granddaughter in law, Randi Runions who preceded her in death.
Pawnee was a devoted mother to her two sons, Tony and Terry Runions, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to her life. Her love and care extended beyond her immediate family to her daughter-in-law, Sandy, whom she embraced as her own.
Pawnee's greatest treasures were her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. Brannon Runions (Ashley), Blake Runions, Jennifer Childers (Abb), and Heather Funderburg (Brandon) were the lights of her life, bringing her endless happiness and fulfillment. She took immense pride in their accomplishments and reveled in their love. Pawnee's legacy continues through the lives of her eight great-grandchildren: Landon Childers, Kaden Childers, Blakely Runions, Braylee Runions, Conner Runions, Mason Runions, Colden Runions, and Barrett Funderburg, who will forever cherish her memory.
Aside from her dedication to family, Pawnee had a passion for gardening and cultivated a breathtaking yard adorned with vibrant flowers and flourishing plants. Her green thumb and meticulous care for her garden earned her recognition as the recipient of the esteemed Yard of the Month award in Sherwood. Pawnee's love for baking was also a well-known fact among her family and friends. She relished every chance she had to bake with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She delighted in sharing her culinary talents and was especially renowned for her delectable coconut and lemon pies, which were enjoyed and cherished by all.
Pawnee Elaine Runions leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and a zest for life that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will be eternally cherished by her son Tony, daughter-in-law Sandy, brother, Wayne Covell, sisters Rozell Williford and Doris Sellers, as well as numerous extended family members.
In addition to her beloved family Pawnee had a host of friends she loved immensely. Whether it was through shared hobbies, church involvement, or simply spending quality time together, Pawnee valued the companionship and support of her dear friends.
In this time of mourning, let us remember Pawnee for her unwavering love and faith in the Lord, her lifelong devotion to her Assembly of God faith and the warmth she brought to every life she touched. May her soul find eternal peace in the loving arms of her heavenly reunion, and may her memory be a guiding light for us all.
