Pauline Shellnut Smith, 83, of Sheridan passed away Friday, March 11, 2022. She was born September 18, 1938 to the late Arlin and Vivian Shellnut.
Pauline was an accomplished pianist and vocalist and over the years sang in the following Gospel Groups: Marlow Quartet, Shellnut Quartet, Altus Quartet, Singing Triads, Grant County Singing Ladies, and Happy Rhythms. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Sheridan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Loys V. Smith; grandson Tony Murphy; brother Joe Shellnut; and her parents.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-laws: Kathy and Elroy Brown, Penny and Bob Tannehill; and a son and daughter-in-law Clay and Audrey Smith; brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Barbara Shellnut; five grandchildren: Kevin Murphy (Meggan), Chad Hinkle, Adam Smith (Ashley), Heather Martone (Corey) and Holly Bryant (Alex); twelve great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several extended family and many friends.
Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Immanuel Baptist Church, Sheridan. Funeral is 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the church with Rev. Gary Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel North Cemetery, Sheridan. Pallbearers include: Kevin Murphy, Adam Smith, Alex Bryant, Corey Martone, Preston Martone and Clayton Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are Elroy Brown, Bob Tannehill, Chad Hinkle and Beau Bryant.
