Pauletta L. Rossi, a/k/a Cutie, Mother, Nana and Great Nana passed away Monday, February 13, 2017. She was born January 18, 1930 and lived her entire life in North Little Rock, Arkansas. She attended NLR Public schools and had a BA in Education in UCA then known as AR State Teachers College. She spent most of her 30 plus years teaching in the Catholic Diocese's parochial school system where she taught at the elementary and high school levels. She spent several years as principal of Catholic Academy, formerly Little Saint Mary's elementary school. She was tremendously artistic and creative in the classroom and was known to have some of the most delightful bulletin boards in every school where she taught.
She was married to Herbert W. Rossi "the boy next door" and they spent 54 years together before he passed away. Central to her life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished each of them. She was a life-long collector and shopper, and her home was always decorated to celebrate every holiday and special occasion. Even in these last few weeks, she had decorated for Valentine's Day. Her antiques each had a story and special remembrance. Her personal style was evident in the way she always dressed, still carrying off wearing knee boots and a signature hat.
Pauletta was predeceased by her parents, Alva and Paul Snow; her husband, Herbert, and her beloved daughter, Amanda Grayson. She is survived by daughter, Amy Rossi and husband Joe Bryan; son, John Paul Rossi; son-in-law, Larry Grayson; grandchildren, Nathan Bryan (Ireys), Nicholas Bryan (Ashley), Trevor Rossi; great-grandsons, Hayden Rossi and Braxton Bryan; and the last of a long line of beloved dogs, Lucy.
Per her wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. A private graveside service will be conducted later. Memorials in her honor may be made to Arkansas Heart Association, 909 West 2nd Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201 or the Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72210.
The family wishes to thank Dr. P. Hebbar, Dr. Kim Gartman and Baptist Home Health Services for giving extraordinary care over the last few months.
