Paul Daton Pinkston, Sr., 83, of Lonoke, graduated to his heavenly home, Wednesday, March 23, 2022. He is survived by one son, Paul D. Pinkston, Jr. and wife, Lisa K. Pinkston; two daughters, Lesli Griffin-Reddick and husband Joel Reddick; Lisa Pinkston and husband Preston Hall; five precious grandchildren, Jordan Griffin, Syndney Griffin, Jacob Hall, Daton Pinkston and Dawson Pinkston. He is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Dutton and two nieces, Deborah Jordan and Diane Dutton.
Paul lived his life to the fullest, and was the author of his own story. And did he have stories to tell!! He did things his way. He was the best dad and PapPaw ever. He loved his family unconditionally and was very proud of them, and their accomplishments. He started his career path in the stock room of Blass Department Store, but rapidly advanced to one of their top buyers, flying to New York. After the death of his in-laws, he took over the family business, Deese Hardware until 1980. Then, in 1981, opened Levy Pawn Shop and expanded to three locations. In his later years, he enjoyed his retirement and was still helping with the business. He also enjoyed his farm, cattle and horses. He was a Mounted Patrol Officer with the Pulaski County Sheriffs office and was also a 32nd degree Mason. He attended Mount Carmel Baptist Church and so enjoyed his Men’s Bible Study class on Tuesday nights. He looked so forward to each week, and never missed.
Our Dad was first to help anyone he could, and taught us to do the same. We loved him more than anything. His passing leaves an enormous void in our lives, but we know he has graduated to his heavenly home.
We want to express our gratitude to Gary Reeves, Jack Odom and all the men of the Bible Study class, for helping him grow strong in his faith.
