Paul Faulkner

Paul Wesley Faulkner, 66, of Little Rock, Arkansas was born December 30, 1958 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He passed away February 5, 2025 from heart failure. He is survived by his father Robert Faulkner (Sheila), mother Linda Faulkner Griffin (Fred Griffin), sisters’ Angela Tapp (Greg), and Kelli Schrang (Scott), Aunts’ (Joyce Duke Andrews and Judy Faulkner Englund), Nephews’ Matthew Moore (Lauren), Michael Schrang (Blaklen) and Niece Madelyn Schrang (fiancé Landon Marshall) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At an early age Paul attended Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis, Missouri learning speech and to read lips. He graduated from Little Rock Catholic High School, and furthered his education in computer science at The Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, New York. He worked in Texas and Florida before returning to Little Rock. Paul enjoyed yard work and provided immaculate lawn service for many customers in the area.

An avid sports fan, he enjoyed the St Louis Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, and Arkansas Razorbacks. He exceled at board games and played competitive Scrabble online with others. If you were a poor loser, you did not want to play Scrabble with Paul. He enjoyed family vacations to Italy, Hawaii, Canada, Utah, Colorado, a Caribbean Cruise, and the Gulf Shore beaches. He loved playing practical jokes on his cousins with vacations and holidays perfect for his pranks.

Paul was associated with local deaf clubs at times and entered several National Bass Association of the Deaf tournaments in Texas. He was overjoyed when his team caught a prize-winning bass. His deer hunting days ended when he made the local news during a past Christmas holiday, texting his parents, he was lost in the forest with a low cell phone battery. The Arkansas Game and Fish and other state agencies tried their best to locate him and he spent the night in the forest under a tree. At sunrise, he managed to find his truck and return home safely but forgot to let his parents know he was home. Paul was a colorful character and kept his guardian angel very busy.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents (Hershal and Helen Faulkner Hensley and John and Edna Duke), Uncles (Jim and Jerry Faulkner) and Aunts (Katherine Kennedy and Joyce Faulkner), cousin (Phillip Faulkner) and his dog (Spade).

The family wishes to thank James (Buddy) Stauber for being a caring neighbor and the doctors and nurses at Baptist Health Hospital’s Critical Care Unit for his care.

A family funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Mississippi Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72207. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest remembrances to St. Mark’s Food Bank.
