Paul Biltz

Paul Maurice Biltz, 90, of Toyko, Japan formerly of Little Rock died on Saturday January 18, 2014 in Hot Springs.
He was a Major in the U.S. Army and retired after 22 years of service. He served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Upon retirement Paul chose to spend the majority of the next 40 years in Japan. When encouraged by his family to come back to Arkansas to live, he let it be known that he preferred Japan for its safety, its people (especially Toshiko) and military amenities, (especially golf and "the club"). During his annual visits back home, he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing the horses at Oaklawn Park and keeping a close eye on the stock market. For many years, he enjoyed coffee call with his friends in Little Rock.
Paul was born on June 8, 1923 in Little Rock, to Maurice and Hilda Biltz. He graduated from Catholic High School in 1941. He graduated from State Teacher's College in 1948 where he was a member of the Men's Golf Team.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Mobley, and his brothers Jim Biltz and Father Joseph H. Biltz. He is survived by his wife, Toshiko of Japan, his sister, Ebby Elser of Hot Springs, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 21st at Holy Souls Catholic Church beginning with visitation at 10:00 a.m., the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Father Bill Elser officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Little Rock. Pallbearers are his nephews: Joe, Jim, Ken, Dan, and Mark Elser.
