Patti Gail Reeves, 70, peacefully passed away on March 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born on April 11, 1954, in Little Rock, Arkansas, she leaves behind a legacy of compassion and kindness that will resonate through the lives she touched.
Patti dedicated over 30 years of her life as a case worker for the Alexander Human Development Center. Her career was a testament to her commitment to helping others, highlighted by her unwavering dedication and the deep understanding she brought to her work. Patti's essence could be captured by the mottos: never to judge a book by its cover, and a persons past doesn't define their future. These guiding principles shaped both her professional and personal relationships, making her not only an exceptional case worker but also a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend.
Patti was known as the best mom in the whole wide world, a title she earned through her remarkable parenting and the unending love she gave to her daughters, Amanda (Jack) Rice and Jennifer (Brian) Hall), and her son, Jeremy Welch. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Holden Sherman, JJ Rice, Emily Sherman, Gabriel Rice, Zander Welch, Toby Witmer, Lilli Welch, and Preston Welch, as well as to her great-grandbaby, Leilani Sherman. Each grandchild brought her immense joy, and her influence is evident in their lives.
An avid lover of animals and nature, Patti found joy in the simplest things. She was a local pool shark, often sharing her competitive spirit with friends and family alike. Additionally, her fondness for playing the slot machines provided many memorable moments filled with laughter and excitement.
Patti's warmth and gentleness were matched only by her vibrant personality. Her compassion and understanding were felt by everyone who knew her. Her beloved and spoiled rotten cat, Wiley, was a cherished companion, emphasized her nurturing spirit.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandbaby, and her beloved pet, as well as a host of friends who are left with cherished memories of her. Patti has been preceded in death by her husband, William Joel Reeves, and her parents, L.J. and Wynetta Jean Gipson.
Patti's family has chosen to honor her with a private celebration at a later date in one of their cherished spots that they spent time together.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made in Patti's name in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society to aid in the research and treatment of Colorectal Cancer.
Patti Gail Reeves’ life was a beautiful journey of service, love, and the profound impact of showing kindness to those in need. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the incredible light she brought into this world.
