Patsy "Pat" Sanders

Patsy Jean Sanders (Pat), 89, died December 10, 2021, with loving family near in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Pat was the 7th of 10 children born to Edna and Elmer Dawes. She lived in Johnston City, Illinois where she met and married her husband, Virgil. They spent the next several years building their family and stationing at different air bases across the country, before settling in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Pat worked at Phifer-Blass now known as Dillard’s in downtown Little Rock and was a member of Immanuel Baptist ChurchPat was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great-grandmother who always welcomed family with open arms, heart, and home. She was intelligent, strong-willed and incredibly witty.

Pat is survived by her brother, Kenney Dawes of Illinois; sons, Wade and Mike Sanders (Linda); daughters, Carol Tilley and Diana Cates (Sam); seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Sanders and son-in-law Bill Tilley.

Please join us in celebrating her life at a visitation from 9:30AM-10:30AM, Monday, December 20, 2021 at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107) with interment following at 11:00AM at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
