Patsy M. Sorrells, age 79, of Dalark passed away Monday, November 25, 2024 at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 6, 1945 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the late Charles Lee Gordon and Sadie Ree (Melugin) Gordon. Patsy enjoyed being with her fur babies, Scooter and Girly. She was a retired truck driver and was also the first lady truck driver for ABF. Patsy loved NASCAR and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Patsy was a member of Dalark Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her older brother, Charles H. Gordon; her loving sister-in-law, Jackie Gordon; and step-son, Kelly Sorrells.
Patsy is survived by James A. Sorrells, who she married on Valentine’s Day in 1976; son, Randall McArty of Malvern; daughter, Beth McArty of Chicago, Illinois; extended children, Benji Johnson of Curtis, Tammie McArty of Hot Springs, and Melissa (Snoopy) Abney of Caddo Valley; step-son, Kevin Sorrells of Prescott; brother, Robert (Nancy) Gordon of Benton; sisters-in-law, Bobbye Gordon of Amity and Jean Sorrells of Glenwood; best friend since first grade, Elizabeth “Lib” Bishnath of Little Rock; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many long-time truck driving buddies who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services are 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2024 at Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Brother Mel Vail officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Atchley Cemetery in Dalark. Family and friends will gather at the fellowship hall of Twin Rivers First Church of the Nazarene in Caddo Valley following the burial. Pallbearers are Benji Johnson, Daniel Riggs, Rob Seale, Greg Gordon, Wallis Seale, Colten Abney, and Randall McArty. Honorary pallbearers are Hollis “Hollywood” Seale, Kurt Gordon, and Larry Gordon.
