Patricia Jean Roberts, 68, of Jacksonville died Friday, April 11, 2008. She was born January 6, 1940 in Bald Knob, Arkansas to Dale and Norma Edwards. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James V. Roberts, Sr.
Pat was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she served many years, as music director, pianist and organist and she taught the youth hand bell choir at one time.
Pat was a LPN and retired from the North Little Rock VA Hospital where she worked for 30 years in the inpatient substance abuse programs, and the outpatient mental health clinic. She always had a good rapport with psychiatric patients in her work.
Pat was also certified as an advanced alcohol and drug abuse counselor, and worked many years in that field. She belonged to the Arkansas Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors and served in several officer positions. She helped with workshops and bookstores at mid south summer schools and at the counselors fall workshop in Jonesboro for many years.
She was an accomplished pianist and organist and played for church services, funerals, weddings and volunteered with North Little Rock VA Chaplain Services providing music when it was needed.
She is survived by four sons, James V. Roberts, Jr., of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Carson Roberts and his wife, Vicki of Conway, William S. Roberts, of Jacksonville and Daniel P. Roberts, of Sherwood; brother-in-law, David Roberts and his wife, Cheri, of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Doris Chargin and her husband, Maladin, of California; grandson, Jamie L. Roberts; great grandson, Hunter L. Roberts and an adopted son, Marcus Rutledge, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Pat will be missed by special long time friends, Maryetta Jackson, Ponzie Garrison, and her North Little Rock Community of Christ Church Family.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff of the Arkansas Heart Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M., at Old Washington Cemetery in Hempstead County. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
