Patricia Elaine Bailey Retterer, 74, Glenwood, formerly of Shawnee, Kansas,
passed peacefully to her rest on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at National Park Medical
Center in Hot Springs.
Patricia was born on Thursday, September 5, 1946, in Marceline, Missouri, the eldest of
six children of Claybourn and Marilyn Lyford Bailey. Patricia is survived by her husband,
Harvey Retterer, daughter, Dawn (Brandon) Westgate, son, David Williams, four
grandchildren, Cory (Jael) Westgate, Sylvia Westgate, Victoria (Dallas) Burenheide,
Avery Williams, and three great grandchildren, Jesse Westgate, Fierna Westgate, and
Austyn Burenheide, three brothers, Wayne (Joy) Bailey, Jerry Bailey, Lloyd Darren
(Avis) Bailey, one sister Mary Lynn (Tom) Green, several nieces, nephews, cousins
and friends, and her beloved dog, Maggie. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ray Bailey and nephew
Caleb Green.
Patricia attended the Marceline Seventh-day Adventist elementary school, Sunnydale
Academy, and graduated from Marceline High School. She earned an Associate degree
from Johnson County Community College in Kansas. She retired in 2008 after 30 years
as a Customer Service Representative with Southwestern Bell. She was a lifelong
member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and was a member of the Chapel Oaks
Seventh-day Adventist Church in Shawnee, Kansas for 40 years.
Among her many hobbies, Patricia enjoyed quilting and square dancing. Her family and
especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She
looked forward to family reunions every year. She was a devoted Mickey Mouse fan and
proudly proclaimed that her hometown Marceline was the boyhood home of Walt Disney
and the birthplace of Mickey Mouse.
Services will be Thursday, March 18, at 2 p.m. at the Bonnerdale Seventh-day Adventist
Church in Glenwood, Arkansas, and Sunday, March 21, at 10 a.m. at the Chapel Oaks Seventh-day Adventist Church in Shawnee, Kansas. Burial to follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Bucklin, Missouri.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
