Patrice D. Duncan

Patrice Duncan, 69 of Conway, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2024. She was born on January 19, 1955, in Conway, Arkansas to Don and Peggy (Purtle) Harrison, 12 minutes before her twin sister, LeAnne.

Patrice grew up in Sheridan, Arkansas, and moved to Little Rock when she was in the 8th grade. She attended Hall High School where she was a Hall High Marching Cherokee. Patrice gave her heart to Jesus on June 30, 1965, and was baptized four days later by her grandfather, Rev. Hollis A. Purtle.

Patrice married Gary Duncan on July 15, 1978, and they had two daughters, Amy and Emily. They moved to Conway in 1982, where they opened Duncan Outdoors. Together they owned and operated their business for 36 years, retiring in 2018.

Patrice’s greatest joy was being a mother to “the girls” and a grandmother to Andrew and Madelyn. Her home was always opened to a host of family and friends, with the kitchen being the primary gathering place as she always made sure to have more than enough snacks, making daily trips to Kroger to ensure her refrigerator and pantry were stocked.

After she retired, she enjoyed attending her weekly Bible study group, always serving as prayer chairman and reconnecting with her Hall High Girls.

She was preceded in death by her father, Don Harrison. Maternal grandparents Rev. Hollis and Vera Purtle, and paternal grandparents, Richard and Lola Mae Harrison.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Gary Duncan. Daughters Amy and husband Jason Horn of Rogers, Arkansas, and Emily Duncan of Nashville, Tennessee. Grandchildren Andrew and Madelyn Horn of Rogers, Arkansas. Mother, Peggy Harrison of Conway, Arkansas. Sister, LeAnne Winters of Conway, Arkansas. Stepdaughter, Carol Duncan and her daughter Jenny Grace Duncan of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and a host of family and dear friends.
