Pat Jr. Palmer, age 74, of Alpine, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2011. He was born on March 4, 1936, at Finley, the son of Page Palmer and Estelle Wrinkle Palmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Clyde Palmer, his son-in-law, Doug Coats and his special friend, Carolyn Stanley. He was Baptist in his faith, an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Shannon Palmer of Hot Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Brett Long and Rebecca and Lenon Main, all of Amity; six grandchildren, Ben Dawson and Savanna Palmer, both of Hot Springs, Blane Long, Zachary Main, Kirklin Main and Chanidy Main, all of Amity; two brothers, Richard Palmer of Alpine and Ed Palmer of Glenwood; three sisters, Faye Davis of Amity, Thelma Lee Sexton of Plano, Texas and Jean Moncrief and her husband, Marty, of McGehee; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 3, 2011, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. John McAnally officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Palmer, Clint Palmer, David McMahan, Dwight Palmer, Chris Dwiggins and Norman Eddie. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Deaton, Billy Karber and Ted Cook.
