Pamela Gent

Pamela Denise Gent, 54, of Little Rock, went home to be with her Lord on June 1, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born March 6, 1966 in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Howard L. and Brenda E. Dodd Pinyan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunts, Martha Moore and Brenda Roach, and uncles, Rich Best, Billy Littleton, Tommy Pinyan, Harold Pinyan, and Bobby Pinyan.

She was a sweet soul who always looked for the best in others. She will be remembered by her family and friends for how she gave her love freely and unconditionally. She spent much of her life in California, Hawaii, and Arkansas, but always considered West Union, South Carolina home. To walk in the mountains of the Upstate is to get a glimpse of Heaven.

Pam was a dedicated teacher at Watson Elementary School where she loved the students who were entrusted to her. As well, she loved her fellow teachers of whom many became dear friends. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Hawaii, and her Master of Education at the University of Central Arkansas. She attained board certification for teaching the Gifted and Talented program.

Survivors include her brother, Robert (Anne) Pinyan of Little Rock; niece, Sarah Pinyan of Little Rock; aunts and uncles, Annette Johnson of West Union, South Carolina, James (Mary Jo) Dodd of Franklin, North Carolina, Audrey (Russell) Evans of Walhalla, South Carolina, Helen Best (Rick Waylon) of California, Maryland, Karen (Danny) Pelfrey of West Union, South Carolina, Linda Morgan (William) of West Union, South Carolina, and Cathy McKinney of Salem, South Carolina. Other survivors include many cousins, extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Little Rock Funeral Home; and 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at West Union (SC) Baptist Church.
