Otis Claud

Otis Barnette (O.B.) Claud, Jr., aged 90, of Little Rock, passed away on September 24, 2011. He was born to Otis Barnette and Lillian Wade Claude in Booneville, Arkansas on February 21, 1921.
O.B. Claud was a veteran of the US Navy having served on the USS Savannah CL42, escaping death when a German radio guided bomb struck the ship killing 200 sailors on September 11, 1943 off the coast of Salerno, Italy. O.B. also was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Southwestern Bell in 1983 with 42 years of service. He was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church.
O.B. Claud was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, brother, H.B. Claude, sister, Kathleen Kuehnart, and grandson, J. Keith Claud. Survivors are John Claud (Lynn) of Cabot, Michael Claud (Pat) of Maumelle, Catherine Shelton (Kenneth) of Conway, Joseph Claud (Karla) of Fayetteville, Suzanne Dobbins (Mark) of Maumelle, 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and special friend, Carole (Mike) Glancy.
A Special Thank You for the Wonderful Caregivers who helped our Dad (Gan Gan) through his last journey in life to include Des Arc Nursing Home, White County Medical Center (all of the 3rd floor gals) and Arkansas Hospice (Sharon Reynolds).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Church in Little Rock at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 with a visitation and rosary preceding the funeral at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, AR 72116.
