Orville Miller, age 82, of Umpire, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. He was born January 31, 1934 at Fancy Hill, the son of Lonnie James Miller and Dora Arizona Beezley Miller. He married Wynell Gatlin on May 16, 1953 and they were married for 63 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Hulen Miller, Olen Miller and Glen Miller. Orville worked as a school bus driver, shaving truck driver, logger, cattle and chicken farmer, and minister. He served as pastor of the Bissell Chapel Church for many years. His lifelong hobbies included hunting in the Ouachita Mountains, fishing along Blaylock Creek, and storytelling. Orville will be remembered as a loving husband and father, and as someone who was always ready to help out those in need. He is survived by his wife, Wynell Miller of Umpire; three children and their spouses, Randy and Ann Miller of Umpire, Mark and Kathy Miller of Waynesville, Missouri and Janet and Terry Terrill of Hot Springs; six grandchildren; two step grandsons; nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Imogene Dowdy and Florene Walker, both of Fancy Hill and Connie Dowdy of Caddo Gap; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 20, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Joe Isham and Bro. Rodger Robbins officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Athens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
