Orva Covington

Orva D. Covington, 87, of Hickory Plains, Arkansas, died November 24, 2009, at Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle. Born in New Bethel Community, Prairie County, Arkansas, on September 21, 1922, she attended Gerin School in Hazen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Gertie Denson; sisters Sybil Scallion, Anna Mae Gilpin; brothers Bob Denson and Troy Denson and Kutla Denson, a daughter, Anna Lea Hankins and great-grandson Harry Arterburn.
She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Covington of Hickory Plains, two sons, Basil Jennings, Jr. of Carlisle and J. C. Jennings of North Little Rock; three stepdaughters, Shelia Harris and Robbie Veazey of Hickory Plains and Beverly Bowers of Cabot; stepson Shelby Covington of Searcy; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Patty Lou Weiss of Kansas; and special nephew Jim Orlicek.
Special thanks to Arkansas Hospice of Cabot and Chambers Nursing Home.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Hickory Plains Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Hickory Plains Cemetery.
