Orby Alton (O. A.) Yancey, age 85 of May, Texas, formerly of Amity, Arkansas died July 21, 2009 at his residence. He was born July 11, 1924 to the late Haley Scott and Bertha Magdalene Yancy.
He was a Rancher and Farmer in Mexico and Canada, worked for an oil company in Texas, was involved in Real Estate for many years, and was a business owner for several businesses. He was an Army veteran of W.W. II, a member of Grace Baptist Church in Early Texas where he was active in mission work, had a Christian school in Mexico and loved the Lord. He also loved spending time with his Grandson Waryck (Rooster) Barr .
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Aurora Espinoza Yancey, two sons, Robert Scott Yancey of Bullard, TX., and Mark Espinoza of Logan Utah. One Daughter, Jessica Barr and Husband Chad of Early TX., two brothers, James Yancey and wife Vern of Farmington, AR., Bill Yancey and wife Kit of Lincoln, AR. Five sisters, Marilyn Runyan and husband Dean of Arkadelphia, Virginia Walker and husband Gene of Farmington, AR., Elaine Bible of Farmington, AR., Linda Hendrickson of Centerton, AR., and Martha Tucker of Gravette, AR. Three Grandchildren and Two Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 Saturday July 25, 2009 at the Oak Grove Community Church with Pastor Lynn Turnbow officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Oak Grove cemetery. Visitation 6-8 pm Friday at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Glen Long, Tony King, Brian Ferguson and Malvin Kovaloff. Honorary pallbearers will be Art Morris, Donny Browning, Dwayne Lee, Buck Crews, Pastor Jerry Stonehouse, W. C. Bishop, Lynn Davis, and Dewitt Palmer.
