Ora Adell Copeland

June 3, 1922 — March 4, 2011

Ora Adell Copeland, age 88, of Amity, went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 4, 2011. Ora was born on June 3, 1922 in Point Cedar, the daughter of Otem Thomason and Mamie Bryant Thomason. On December 23, 1943, she was married to Cleatous Copeland who preceded her in death on June 18, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her son, Wayne Copeland; two grandsons, Christopher Hinesly and Bobby Wilson; her great-grandson, Matthew Todd; her parents; her sister, Clara Murrell; her brother, Marvin Thomason; and her son-in-law, Archie Wilson. Ora was a Christian by faith and loved her God first, her husband, children, grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great-grandkid. She loved to quilt, gardening and her church, Shiloh Church of Christ. She loved family reunions, church dinners and telling you she raised ten kids and a hand in raising her grandkids. Survivors include her eight daughters and their spouses, Betty and William Lambert, Martha Wilson, Joyce and Carl York and Lillie and Rickie Garner all of Amity, Fern and James Wehunt of Caddo Gap, Penny and James Wright of Bonnerdale, Becky and Gary Schaefer of Scott and Della and Stan Mitchell of Alexander; her son and daughter-in-law, Arlo and Virginia Copeland of Bismarck; her daughter-in-law, Bettie Copeland of Amity; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter, Zoe' Cox; her sister, Estell Stroope of Arkadelphia; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 7, 2011 in the Sweet Home Church near Amity with Rick Collie and Gary Hardage officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sweet Home Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Tommy Lambert, Allen Garner, Kevin Garner, Jon Mitchell, Josh Mitchell and Lance York. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis York, Eric Breazeale, Vance Wright, Brett Schaefer and Jeff Kitchens. A special thank you goes out to the staff and nurses of the Glenwood Nursing Home and Arkansas Hospice. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
